Outstanding actor, narrator, radio announcer and presenter of Cuban radio and television, member of the Union of Journalists of Cuba and of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba. Manolo de la Rosa was awarded the status of Artist of Merit in radio and television ICRT in 2009.
1961-1967: Announcer and scriptwriter of programs at the broadcasting station "La Voz de Isla de Pinos" (currently Radio Caribe) in the Isle of Youth, work that he combined with his work in the FAR, in the Department of Culture.
1983: Presenter and announcer of Cuban Television, narrator of documentaries, film dubbing, and presenter of adventure programs, and participated in voice imitation for children's animated shows.
1982-1983-1984: During these years he represented Cuban TV on "Cuba Day" at television stations in several former socialist countries.
1983: He was selected to work as an announcer in the Spanish broadcasts of Radio Moscow International, in the former Soviet Union, together with his wife Malena Negrín Iser, also an announcer. Both carried out this work as part of an agreement that existed between the Institute of Radio and Television (ICRT) and the former State Committee of Radio and TV of the USSR (GOSTELERADIO).
1991: He attended the XXV Conference of the European Dexist Council (EDXC), which was held in Sitges, Barcelona, Spain.
During the nearly 10 years he lived in Moscow, Manolito de la Rosa combined his radio work with narrations of documentaries in Spanish for the companies "FILMEXPORT" and "MOSFILME" that exported to Spanish-speaking countries, participated in film dubbing, as well as in voice work for children's animated shows, which are still seen on Cuban TV today, such as "You'll Pay for This, Rabbit", in which I do the voice of the wolf, and my wife Malena does the voice of the little rabbit".
1992: Upon his return from Moscow, he rejoined his work at Cuban Television, but in 1994, he moved to Radio Habana Cuba in its Spanish broadcasts, where he was assigned to host the morning magazine "Awakening with Cuba", as well as other programs of the said shortwave station, among which "In Contact" (DX Program) which he wrote and hosted with his wife Malena Negrín until recently.
1996: He represented Radio Habana Cuba and Cuban Radio at an event called "Challenges", held in St. John's, Newfoundland, sponsored by Radio Canada International, where the main international shortwave broadcasting stations participated, and in which De la Rosa gave a presentation on the History of Cuban Broadcasting.
2003: He was invited to participate in the "Ninth Meeting of Mexican Radio Listeners and Dxists", which took place in Tizayuca, State of Hidalgo, and in which he gave a presentation on the History of Radio Habana Cuba and Cuban broadcasting today. On that occasion, he was invited to give a lecture on shortwave radio and Cuban Radio at the Faculty of Communications of UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico).
2006: Until that year since 1999 he collaborated with Radio Rebelde programs "Stations" and "Rebel Window", with a DX space.
2008: He retired, but continued producing and hosting the program "In Contact" of Radio Habana Cuba, together with his wife Malena Negrín, as well as collaborated on other programs on broadcasting stations in the Cuban capital.
2008: He participated in the "First Hispanic-American Scientific Meeting of Radio Broadcasting" as a member of its Organizing Committee, which was attended by colleagues from several Latin American countries.
Distinctions
He received several recognitions and awards from the Shortwave station, he wrote, produced and hosted three programs for Latin America and Europe.
He received the trophy as: "Best Producer and Announcer (that year) of DX programs", awarded annually by the specialized Radio and Telecommunications magazine "Nuevo Maf Internacional" (MAF: "Very High Frequency"), based in Barcelona.
Manolo de la Rosa was awarded the status of Artist of Merit in radio and television ICRT in 2009.
