Founder of Television in Cuba ventured into all genres, Comedies, Tragedies, Novels, Adventures, Theater on TV, Children's Programs, etc.

Gina Cabrera began in radio in the late forties. She assumed leading roles in novels, serials, adventures, theater productions and stories, first at Unión Radio, until reaching the coveted Circuito CMQ.

Codazos Magazine designated her along with Raquel Revuelta as the first actresses of television in 1953, representing channels 6 and 4, and the Association of Radio and Television Journalists selected her as the first television actress in 1956.

She also stood out in 1954 in Humo del recuerdo, in Sueños de mujer alongside Eduardo Egea and in other literary works brought to television.

Some of the most memorable programs are: Miércoles de amor Palmolive, Soraya una flor en la tormenta, Los mambises, Juana Azurduy, El Caballero Blanco, Sábado 37, El mambisito, etc, etc, etc.

On Radio numerous programs both for children and adults. Both on Radio Liberación and Radio Rebelde, Radio Progreso, countless radio serials, informational programs, critical programs such as: Crítica de Radio y TV, and many for children such as Tía tata cuenta-cuentos, etc.

Gina, as beautiful as she is talented, demonstrates in her time on the airwaves, the stage, the small and big screen, that she is who she is: A leading actress, worthy of the National Television Prize for Lifetime Achievement, in its first edition and above all, of the greatest award which is the affection, admiration and recognition of an entire people, to whom she dedicated all her art with modesty and simplicity.

Gina has performed almost all famous authors in any of the genres in which she has ventured (Theater, Radio, TV and Cinema, in the latter filming several films in Mexico). She has been a teacher to children and adults, part of evaluation commissions for acting and other activities related to the teaching of art.

First Artistic Manifestation:
Recitation of the poem "A los ojos de mi madre". (7 years old)
Child actress at CMBY (La Casa de las Medias) in the children's company Arturo Rodríguez from Teatro Martí, in the Comedy and in all Schools. She studied at Colegio Heredia, at Nuestra Señora del Pilar, at Instituto de la Habana, at University of Havana (Spanish Philology and Literature).

Recognition
Medal National Order for 30 years dedicated to art.
Medal for National Culture from the Ministry of Culture.
Raúl Gómez García Medal from the National Union of Culture Workers.
Literacy Medal from the State Council of the Republic of Cuba.
Medal from the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television for more than 25 years of work.
Award with diploma and trophy for best female performance (8th UNEAC Contest)
Trophy 70th Anniversary Cuban Radio.
Special Television Award Caricato 1999
National TV Prize 2003 (For a Lifetime of Work)
Artist of Merit year 2004.
