Radio and television producer. President of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) and Director of the Cultural News Program. He was President of the Hermanos Saíz Association. Elected Deputy to the National Assembly of People's Power for the municipality of Santa Clara, province of Villa Clara, on April 18, 2018 for the IX Legislature.
He was born in Quemado de Güines, Villa Clara. Graduate of the Central University Marta Abreu de Las Villas, with a degree in Literature.
He was awarded the special teaching category of Visiting Professor of the Faculty of Humanities of the Central University Marta Abreu de Las Villas.
While studying, he began working at the municipal radio station CMKS, in Sagua la Grande, where he directed a cultural magazine and radio programs on the provincial network of Villa Clara, CMHW.
In 1997 at the XX National Festival, he won First Prize for programs dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Cuban Radio. Upon graduating, he combined his work as a Professor of Linguistics at the Central University of Las Villas with that of director of the Radio Magazine W News Magazine. He was elected deputy to the National Assembly.
He has had outstanding performance, from 1994 to the present, in the conception and production of radio and television news programs specialized in the communication of cultural content, such as Apuntes, Dial al día and La fiesta del guatao, on Villa Clara radio stations, and Paréntesis and the Cultural News Program on Cuban Television. At the helm of the latter, he has managed to consolidate a space of enormous social impact, essential in the defense of cultural policy.
Elected on June 30, 2019 as president of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC).
