Luis Carlos Soberón Valdés

Born in San Antonio de los Baños. Studies at the Escuela de San Alejandro. He holds a degree in Literature and History of Art from the Universidad de la Habana.

He has worked as a professor of History and Appreciation of Plastic Arts at the Escuela de San Alejandro itself, and as a professor of History of Culture at the Instituto Superior de Diseño and professor of Painting and Drawing in the Sistema Nacional de Casas de Cultura in La Habana.

He is founder of the workshop-exhibition "Río Azul" in San Antonio de los Baños.

He carries out national exhibitions at the Galería Provincial Eduardo Abela, V and VI Biennial of Humor, Salon of Literature in Plastic Arts, etc.

He exhibits in Brazil at the Universidad Federal and travels to the RDA. He participates in the XII International Biennial of Grabovo, Bulgaria and the Salón Yumurí, Japan.

His works appear in the magazines Signos, DDT, El Habanero, etc.

His work is part of private collections in Canada, commercialized through Galería Lord "L" in Belleville, Ontario.

His canvases have been exhibited in several art galleries in Cuba, as well as in Neubrandenburg, Germany, in Belleville, Canada, in Ciudad de Gravoto, Bulgaria. Likewise, he has obtained honorific mentions and awards for his humorous and serious work by recognized institutions.
