Leyanis Pérez Hernández is a Cuban triple jumper from Pinar del Río, regarded as one of the best in the world at her event. She began in long jump and high jump before her talent for the triple jump was discovered.
Pérez won the outdoor world title at the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo, defeating Venezuela's Yulimar Rojas, and also claimed the world indoor title in Nanjing in 2025. In July 2026 she officially cleared 15 meters for the first time, jumping 15.06 meters in Monaco, and in August she won gold at the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo.
Before her world titles, she had already been Diamond League champion in 2024 and 2025, as well as a bronze medalist at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest and Pan American champion that same year.
