Leonardo Leyva Martínez

Leonardo "Leo" Leyva Martínez (born March 23, 1990, in Havana) is a Cuban volleyball player known for his powerful attacking. Trained in the Jesús María neighborhood of Havana, he was a junior world championship competitor and has spent most of his professional career abroad, playing in Puerto Rico, South Korea, China, Turkey, Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates and Indonesia. In South Korea he set a world scoring record in a four-set match with 53 points and has been named Most Valuable Player in several seasons of the South Korean V-League. He currently plays for the Cheonan Hyundai Capital Skywalkers. In May 2025 he married Cuban influencer Iraisel Pintueles in Havana; the couple divorced in July 2026.
