Jose Antonio Iglesias Alemán

Jose Antonio Iglesias Alemán is a Cuban former Major League Baseball infielder who built a 13-season career after debuting with the Boston Red Sox in 2011. He later played for the Detroit Tigers, Cincinnati Reds, Baltimore Orioles, Los Angeles Angels, Colorado Rockies, New York Mets and San Diego Padres, was an American League All-Star reserve in 2015, finished second in AL Rookie of the Year voting in 2013, and earned a Gold Glove nomination in 2016. He ended his playing career with the Padres in 2025.

Alongside baseball, Iglesias developed a music career under the stage name Candelita, including the 2024 single "OMG," which topped iTunes Latin pop. In August 2026 he made his Broadway debut as the Narrator in Buena Vista Social Club.
