Dr. Jorge Pablo Alfonzo Guerra was born in Havana. He graduated as a physician in June 1963.

He completed his specialties and received the following distinctions and titles: Doctor in Medicine, Specialist of First Degree in Internal Medicine, Specialist of Second Degree in Nephrology, Foreign Medicine of the Hospitals of Paris, Doctor in Medical Sciences, Senior Researcher and of Merit, Senior Professor, Consultant, Senior Academic of the Academy of Sciences of Cuba

He has worked his entire career at the National Institute of Nephrology "Dr. Abelardo Buch López" (INNEF). Victoria de Girón Faculty (formerly at Finlay-Albarrán) of the Medical University of Havana

Received several awards in the National Competitions of MINSAP, the Academy of Sciences of Cuba and in Science and Technology Forum. Advisor to 38 theses of Specialists and scientific degree, participated as main author and collaborator in over 25 Research projects in the Topics of Hypertension, Transplant, Teaching, Epidemiology, Clinical.
