Jonathan Fernández

Jonathan Fernández is a Cuban taekwondo athlete who competes in the 63-kilogram division. Based in Mexico, he has stood out in international competitions representing Cuba in the junior category, where he has achieved a world-class ranking.

In April 2026, Fernández represented Cuba at the Junior World Taekwondo Championship Taekwon't2026, achieving a historic eighth-place finish in his category. His participation marked Cuba's return to the competition after 16 years of absence, since the Cuban delegation last competed in Tijuana in 2010. Fernández is regarded as one of the brightest hopes in Cuban taekwondo ahead of the Youth Olympic Games in Senegal 2026 and the Olympic Games in Los Angeles 2028.
