Jack was an outfielder for the Washington Senators from 1913 to 1920. He participated in 34 games with 56 at-bats scoring 10 runs, made 9 hits, 1 triple, 1 home run, 4 RBIs, 3 walks, .161 batting average, .250 slugging percentage, 67 total bases and 19 sacrifice hits. He died in Miami, Florida and his funeral was held at Flagler Memorial Park, Miami.
Calvo played "Negro baseball" with the Long Branch Cubans in 1913 and 1915 but spent most of his career in Cuba where he played in the winter season in the Cuban league from 1913 to 1927 and was elected to the Cuban Baseball Hall of Fame in 1948.
He made his debut on May 9, 1913 and his last major league game was on June 28, 1920. He was a left-handed player 5' 10" in height and weighed 156 lb
