Inés María Chapman Waugh

Inés María Chapman Waugh. Master's in Hydraulic Engineering. President of the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources from 2011 until July 21, 2018 when she is promoted to the position of Vice President of the Council of Ministers in the First Ordinary Period of Sessions of the IX Legislature of the National Assembly. Vice President of the Council of State of the Republic of Cuba from April 19, 2018 until October 10, 2019. Elected Deputy to the National Assembly of People's Power on April 18, 2018 in the Constitutive Session of the IX Legislature. She was deputy director of the Hydraulic Development Company and provincial delegate of the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources (INRH). She is a member of the Central Committee and the Council of State. Appointed Vice Prime Minister of the Republic of Cuba on December 21, 2019. In 2021 she is appointed President of the National Council for Standardization, Metrology, Quality and Accreditation.

Master's in Hydraulic Engineering in the Netherlands (1978).

She began her professional career as a Training Technician at the Hydroeconomy Company of Holguín and later moved to the Investment and Projects Company holding different positions.

Appointed in 2001 deputy director of the Hydraulic Development Company, later Assistant Sub-delegate of the Provincial Delegation of the INRH and Delegate. President of the INRH until July 21, 2018, succeeded in the position by Antonio Rodríguez Rodríguez.

Elected at the Sixth Party Congress as a member of the Central Committee. Deputy to the National Assembly and member of the Council of State. Outstanding cadre by the Municipality: Frank País.

She participated in the Cuba-USSR Friendship Festival in Minsk.

In the Constitutive Session of the IX Legislature on April 19, 2018, Parliament members elected her as vice president of the Council of State of the Republic of Cuba, a position she held until October 10, 2019.

Promoted to the position of Vice President of the Council of Ministers in the First Ordinary Period of Sessions of the IX Legislature of the National Assembly.

On December 21, 2019, at the proposal of the President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, she is designated by the National Assembly of People's Power in the IV ordinary period of sessions corresponding to the IX Legislature, First Vice Minister.
