Inés María Chapman to be President of the National Council for Standardization, Metrology, Quality and Accreditation

Inés María Chapman Waugh, Vice Prime Minister, has just been appointed President of the National Council for Standardization, Metrology, Quality and Accreditation.

The decision in this regard is contained in a resolution signed by Manuel Marrero Cruz, Prime Minister, and published by the Official Gazette of the Republic of Cuba No. 98 in extraordinary edition.

According to the text, this is based on Decree-Law 8 on Standardization, Metrology, Quality and Accreditation, of April 16, 2020, which in its Article 7 establishes the creation of the National Council for Standardization, Metrology, Quality and Accreditation.

It explains that it constitutes the advisory body of the Government in these matters and its integration and operation are regulated in Decree 16 Regulation of Standardization, Metrology, Quality and Accreditation, of August 31, 2020.

Inés María Chapman Waugh holds a Master's degree in Hydraulic Engineering, is a deputy to the National Assembly of People's Power, a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and of the Council of State.
