Radio Reloj Announcer. He offered classes in announcing, recitation, and oral narration. He held recognition and awards for his professional work and his combative contributions to the Cuban Revolution.

Radio Reloj Announcer. He offered classes in announcing, recitation, and oral narration in a project named Voces del Futuro that included 60 children, and "in fact he himself assured that it became the breeding ground for children's television and radio programs. Member of the Lectureship of Announcing, whose function is teaching in the sector, he made particular emphasis so that announcers who were going to enter this station would be well prepared. The Guantanamo native José (Pepe) Mejías confessed how good it was to be Ibrahim's student and described him as "very demanding but an excellent teacher".

Ibrahim was of peasant background and lived in the mountains of Santiago de Cuba. In this place there were no schools, he only had third grade. Already in adolescence, he began to study by correspondence, took courses in geography, mathematics, one at a time. Once these studies were completed, he began a radio technician course through the National School until he finished it. and in 1947 he began his working life as a driver. But in the municipality of San Luís, belonging to Santiago de Cuba, a radio station had been created, the CMKQ, now known as Radio Majaguabo and there he made his debut as an announcer the following year, in 1948.

That was on August 16, 1948, a day of carnivals in the town. The announcer who was supposed to start at six in the afternoon was absent and they asked him to start announcing, at first he refused because he had never done anything like that in his life, but finally he accepted, and the first thing he announced was a song by Pedro Vargas titled: "Velaré tu sueños". At first his voice didn't come out, it wasn't until the audio operator alarmed him when he finally pronounced the words, very quickly he thinks that people must not have understood him. It seemed like a dream to him, seeing how in his condition as a "guajirito" he could speak on the radio. And from then on the radio bug bit him and he never abandoned it.

At that time the Ministry of Communications required the title of announcer to practice the profession, so he managed in 1950 to examine and obtain the precious diploma, which allowed him to advance and from that date on he began to work at CMKR, known then as the provincial radio network of Santiago de Cuba.

In 1952 he moved to Manzanillo and immediately began as an announcer at CMDF Radio Manzanillo, which is now known as Radio Granma. He also shared work with CMKX in Bayamo, since both belonged to the same province and that facilitated his transfers. He has a nice memory of CMDF and it is that there he formed a dramatic group with amateurs, but it lasted a short time, due to lack of support, that is, the necessary budget.

While in Manzanillo he became linked with a cell of the Orthodox Party, which is his political base and later with the movement of July 26 that began to take shape in Manzanillo. There together with a group of young people they began to develop tasks to help with the overthrow of Fulgencio Batista, until in December 1956, he was forced to leave the city because the police captain gave him 24 hours to abandon the city.

In January 1957, already in Havana, he began to work at Radio Caribe Station, at Prado 111. Also while in Manzanillo I became linked with a cell of the Orthodox Party, which is my political base. Later I did so with the movement of July 26 that began to take shape in Manzanillo. There together with a group of young people guided by Andrés Luján Vázquez, we began to develop tasks to help with the overthrow of the tyrant Fulgencio Batista, until in December 1956, I was forced by police captain Leoncio Naús Jaile who gave me 24 hours to abandon the city.

In January 1957, I was already settled in Havana and soon began to work at Radio Caribe Station, which was located at Prado 111. He also worked at Radio Mambí, at Radio Lavín, at CMK Radio Deportes, at Radio Musical, at Cadena Oriental de Radio, which since 1953 had moved from Santiago de Cuba to Havana, in short he had a very intense radio life.

He suffered in 1957 and 1958 detentions and beatings at the hands of the repression bodies of the tyranny of Fulgencio Batista.

On December 15, 1958, due to the relations that Radio Caribe had in Havana, where he worked with the new station that was intended to be inaugurated there, I participated in the inauguration of CMKN Radio Isla de Pinos. On the 31st of the same month, he was sent to carry out a mission at that station and there he received the year 1959.

At the request of Armando Hart Dávalos and Jesús Montané Oropesa, who were freed that day from the prison on the Island, he continued collaborating in the organization of the Isla de Pinos station for five months. Later he returned to Havana to occupy his positions at Radio Caribe and Radio Musical, which were the radio stations he was working with at that time.

In 1962, they transferred him to Radio Rebelde where he remained for eight years and in 1970, they sent him to Television as an actor and announcer, where he remained for twenty-one years. Until in 1991, he decided to join the group of announcers at Radio Reloj, and there he stayed until his death with the same enthusiasm as the first day.

Ibrahim Aput had been before a microphone for 64 years, as an announcer and actor on Radio and Television. And specifically at Radio Reloj he was one of the standard-bearers of the stellar Morning program. To which must be added his appearance in the Cuban film Ustedes tienen la palabra.

He began in Television in the training of new announcers and continued until his death.

He was a member of the National Announcement Evaluation Courts since its founding and Member of the national board of the Lectureship of Announcing. He also presided over the artistic council of Radio Reloj.
