Psychiatrist of intense medical work, he wrote extensively on this subject. Member of the Society of Clinical Studies. Member of the Academy of Medical, Physical and Natural Sciences of La Habana, and director of its journal.

First president of the Cuban Society of Neurology and Psychiatry.
