Catalina Ayón

Born in La Habana. Contralto and choral director.

She was part of the choruses in the first season of the Consejo Provincial de Cultura, participating in the productions of La verbena de la Paloma, La revoltosa, Doña Francisquita and the premiere of the definitive version of Cecilia Valdés (1961).

She is a founder of the Teatro Lírico Nacional de Cuba, where her entire professional life has taken place. Director of the chorus of the Teatro Lírico Nacional de Cuba, an activity she has been performing for more than twenty years.

She has participated in all of the company's foreign tours. She is married to bass singer and choral director Edwin Moore, also a founder of the Teatro Lírico Nacional de Cuba.
