Carlos Antonio Giménez

Carlos Antonio Giménez was born in Havana on January 17, 1954, and came to the United States with his family in November 1960.

He spent about 25 years with Miami Fire-Rescue, rising to fire chief, and later served as Miami city manager and as a Miami-Dade County commissioner.

He was Miami-Dade County mayor from 2011 to 2020. Since January 2021 he has represented Florida's 28th district in the U.S. House of Representatives as a Republican, and he is the only Cuba-born member of Congress.
