He was born in Havana, his father plays guitar from Los Panchos to Silvio Rodriguez, passing through The Beatles and El Trio Matamoros, his uncle Luis dances in the university's comparsa, meanwhile, his uncle Armando listens to Barry White and Led Zeppelin on foreign radio stations, his uncle Carlos teaches him to read, his mother gives him "The Moomin Family" by Tove Jansson, his grandmother Inés gives him his first guitar which his father teaches him to play at 15 years of age, while Silvio Rodriguez becomes fashionable throughout Cuba…
We find ourselves before one of those artists who are capable of transmitting magic with each one of their songs, strength and life with their live performances and pure feelings with the poetry of their songs, an artist who has known how to drink from many musical sources and create music without borders.
Around the year 1990 he becomes part of the peña of 13 and 8 in the Havana neighborhood of El Vedado, later, in 95, after performing in a large number of Cuban concerts and festivals, he participates with his group "Debajo" in the recording of "Habana Oculta" (Anthology of young Cuban singer-songwriters edited by the Spanish label Nube Negra)
It is in 1996, already in Madrid, when he records with Habana Abierta the first of the three albums he would record with the band, "Habana Abierta" (1997), "24 Horas" (1999), and "Boomerang" (2005). During the 14 years he was part of this group, Boris toured Spain, USA and several European countries and performed at various festivals and venues such as Doctor Music Festival, Festival Bilbao Tropical, Festival BAM, Festival ETNOSUR, Festival Valle de Ainsa, Festival La Mar de Músicas. Cartagena, Festival Womad de Canarias, Festival Amnistía Internacional, Concerts at the Salón Rosado de la Tropical Benny Moré in Havana, Miami Dade County Auditorium etc etc…
In 2005 he began his work as vocalist and frontman of the Habana Blues Band, with which he experienced enormous critical and public success throughout Spain during the 2 years that project lasted.
After his solo debut with the album "Yo no tengo la culpa" (2002) produced by one of the most renowned producers of the moment in Spain, Alejo Stivel, in 2009 he definitively leaves Habana Abierta and releases "Libre", self-produced with the help of the masterful Cuban drummer Horacio "El Negro" Hernández and Ivette Falcón, with the participation of extraordinary musicians of the caliber of Richie Flores, Dany Noel, Roberto Carcassés, Amik Guerra and Segundo Mijares, among many others, which guarantees the musical quality of this new proposal.
Already in 2010 he produces together with Ivette Falcón an acoustic EP, "Felicidad" of 5 songs with an innovative format of guitar, cello and cajón.
In short, poet and musician, a fighter who battles tirelessly knowing that his greatest weapon is that music that fills our mind, our soul, our heart with energy.
Boris has resided since 1997 in the city of Madrid, where his little daughter Adela grows up and studies.
