Bartolomé Arce Hidalgo

Outstanding personality in Cuban medicine, teaching and research. Senior Academic, Doctor in Medicine, Doctor in Medical Sciences and Senior Professor.

He worked as a physician for more than 50 years. He was a member of the Cuban Society of Endocrinology, the International Society of Andrology and the Academy of Sciences of New York. He has held important leadership positions both in Cuba and abroad, among which stands out the Vice Presidency of the Latin American Federation of Hospitals.

He has participated in countless national and international conferences related to Endocrinology, Human Reproduction, Hospital Management and Accreditation, as well as various postgraduate courses taught.

Arce has more than forty-five years as a professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the Higher Institute of Medical Sciences of Havana and was also a professor at the Faculty of Medicine of Oran in Algeria.

He was a thesis advisor for specialists and for doctors in Medical Sciences and was part of residency and doctoral examination boards. He stands out as a professor in the training of specialists and organized and developed the accreditation activity of health institutions in the country.

Publications
He has published more than one hundred articles in Cuban specialty journals and in international journals. He has published eight books, one of which is of International dissemination by the W.H.O.

He holds numerous recognitions, among which stand out:

Order "Frank País" of II Degree.
Order "Playa Girón".
Medal "International Combatant".
Distinction "For Service in the MININT" (5-10-15 years)

Awards
He received the title of Hero of Labor of the Republic of Cuba (2020).
