Antonio Quevedo

Antonio Quevedo, husband of María Muñoz de Quevedo, architect, music critic and efficient cultural collaborator.

Since 1919 he lived in Cuba. He abandoned his profession as an engineer to pursue musical and artistic work activities. Married to María Muñoz, he founded with her the important magazine Musicalia (1928). This publication had two periods, one from 1928 to 1931 and another from 1940 to 1942. He later promoted the magazine Pro-Arte Musical. Contributor to various Cuban publications. He was a music advisor to the Instituto Cubano de Radiodifusión.

On their honeymoon trip to the island of Cuba, they echoed the famous phrase of Christopher Columbus: "This is the most beautiful land that human eyes have ever seen". And they decided to settle in the capital.

Probably, they never suspected that they would be protagonists of a cultural historical event in the largest of the Antilles due to their transcendental contribution to the development of Cuban music.
