She studied piano; initially, with Juan Molinari, as well as Harmony with Rosich in Spain, where she was a member of the Orfeo Catalá de Barcelona.

Subsequently, she completed her piano studies with Isabelle Vengerora and Carl Friedberg in New York. She graduated in 1934 from the Institute of Musical Art of the Juilliard School. She gave numerous piano recitals in various European and American cities.

In 1938 she founded a Musical Institute in La Habana, dedicating herself to teaching.

In 1959 she was a professor at the Conservatorio Alejandro García Caturla.
