Ana Navarro was the first Cuban woman to graduate in the specialty of Pediatric Endocrinology, and after her graduation she moved to Santiago de Cuba where she developed this specialty as a physician and also as a teacher.
Her training at the Institute of Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases was under the mentorship of the eminent professor Ricardo Güell González.
