Over 100 national events as delegate, speaker, special guest, guest of honor. Over 50 international events, world congresses, world conferences. Research Activities: I have participated as principal investigator in research on prevalence, incidence and mortality of cardiovascular diseases. Research on coronary risk factors, mainly smoking and hypertension, community hypertension control programs and most recently on methods for detecting hypertensive patients and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring. All of this has resulted in the publication of over 40 papers in national journals and 15 in international journals and numerous presentations at national and foreign scientific events.
Books:
I have been co-author of 4 specialty books, two national and two foreign.
Teaching Activities:
Assistant professor, consulting professor: As president, secretary and member in specialty cardiology tribunals, also in defense tribunals for doctoral theses and research.
Other administrative activities:
Secretary and later Chief of the National Cardiology Group since 1992. Member of the national technical advisory commissions on ischemic heart disease and hypertension. I continue participating in the development of research: Cuban study on tobacco and health.
