Rubiera femenina», «la Rubierita», «la sustituta de Rubiera»
Meteorologist, head of the Center for Atmospheric Physics and Principal Specialist in Meteorology. Assistant Professor at the Institute of Higher Technology and Applied Sciences, University of Havana. She was elected Deputy to the National Assembly of People's Power for the municipality of San Miguel del Padrón, province of Havana, on March 26, 2023 for the X Legislature.
Since childhood she said she wanted to be a doctor or teacher; her mother was a nurse at the then Provincial Hospital of Ciego de Ávila and her aunt was a primary school teacher, currently in that city. Already close to adolescence she liked broadcasting and acting and later she liked sciences.
"I liked the sciences of Physics, Mathematics, Geography (even, in the Pioneer Explorers Movement, in primary and secondary school, I was Provincial Champion in Orientation with the Nautical Rose and in Description of Nature), but at the same time I felt a special love for the stage, broadcasting, the spoken word. And in Pre-university when the Meteorology career came along, with a quite rigorous aptitude test and also only one position for the entire province that year, I said my God, this career can encompass everything I like and so it was, because I could also fulfill my function in something else that I like as much as teaching classes, something I had been doing since childhood in Monitor Meetings, where I obtained awards at the provincial level with a Mathematics class. I think the decision for the career came just in time."
The first time she thought about Meteorology as a path she would like to pursue was during pre-university. A lover of Physics, Mathematics and Geography, and enamored with broadcasting since childhood, Ailyn saw the possibility of combining it all and set herself the challenge. Such a challenge was not easy, as the aptitude tests included mental tests and rigorous exams. The only position that came that year to Ciego de Ávila she obtained it.
In 2010 she graduated with Highest Honors.
Her work at the Institute of Meteorology
In September 2010 she began her work at the Institute of Meteorology, at the Forecast Center, she was already working on her thesis with Rubiera and a great team of highly specialized specialists, a place that has opened doors to her human and professional development.

The feminine Rubiera
Regarding the opinion of many people who have nicknamed her "the feminine Rubiera," "little Rubiera," "Rubiera's substitute." She expresses:
"I believe that the professor has no substitutes. He is an incredible person, a master in every sense of the word, from whom we all learn. I am very surprised and happy with the people's admiration, the respect for my profession and their support. That is why, facing the cameras to talk about tropical cyclones every day will be an even greater challenge for me.
