The music of the legendary Benny Moré returns today to the Teresa Carreño theater in Caracas, by the hand of Cuban maestro Joaquín Betancourt and the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Venezuela.
The tribute concert for the centennial of Moré's birth and the 500 years of Havana, will also feature the presence of Cuban singer and composer Zunilda Remigio and other Venezuelan performers, all under the baton of Betancourt.
For Joaquín Betancourt it was a surprise to discover the transcendence and impact of Moré in this land.
'I had an idea of the transcendence of his work but only by being in Venezuela have I discovered how well-known and beloved Benny is here', he said.
Betancourt explained to Prensa Latina that this is the first time that this project created and directed by him, where the most well-known themes of Benny's authorship or those that became famous in his voice are brought to symphonic music, leaves Cuba.
He emphasized that thanks to the initiative of Culture Minister Ernesto Villegas, this concert reached this South American nation, which he hopes will have a great reception due to how well-known Moré is here and the similarity of cultures and musical tastes between both nations.
Last Saturday night and in the afternoon of Sunday, December 15, the most well-known numbers of that popular Cuban performer who more than half a century ago filled the most crowded stages of this country and made more than one person move their feet will be felt again in Caracas.
