The institution invited the Cuban artists to preserve 'Live in Marciac', their album that won the Latin Grammy for Best Traditional Tropical Album.

Live in Marciac, the album by pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba and singer Aymée Nuviola, was preserved in the archives of the U.S. Library of Congress.

This institution invited the Cuban artists to record a concert by both of them in order to preserve the album that won a Latin Grammy in the Best Traditional Tropical Album category this year.

"We are less than two hours away from making history by leaving part of our musical legacy in the archives of the U.S. Library of Congress. Live in Marciac will remain for posterity," Nuviola noted in an Instagram post.

For its part, the U.S. Library of Congress promoted the concert on Twitter and offered free admission. The latter indicated that the Cuban artists' album was being presented in cooperation with the Revada Foundation of the Logan family.

Gonzalo Rubalcaba also echoed the event and thanked the recognition of his work.

In another Instagram post Aymée Nuviola wrote: "With humility, we receive this honor and this privilege. I thank God for taking me to places I never imagined for His glory and honor. Thank you maestro Gonzalo. Thank you".

The U.S. Library of Congress is the oldest cultural institution in the U.S. It has a universal collection of more than 17 million books and 95 million maps, manuscripts, photographs, films, audio recordings, engravings and drawings.
