Cuban comedian Andy Vázquez premiered an animated series on YouTube titled "El Solar de La chancleta", starring his popular character Facundo Correcto, as he had announced to his followers weeks before.

Its first chapter was launched on Wednesday and features several of his characters, whom he voices himself, including those created in recent years, since the artist arrived in Miami after gaining great popularity on the island with the television program Vivir del Cuento.

Vázquez is a producer of the series, which features his characters Ángel Bueno (Aguaje), Bienvenido Blanco Blanco, Shantal, Hipólito el Teacher, Amore H and Lina La Javá, among others. The first chapter lasts just over four minutes.

In the episode, Facundo assumes his usual role as a communist official with the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR), to whom a military officer assigns a "mission" in El Solar de La chancleta, where the informant resides.

The officer tells him that in this community something worse than criminal acts is being plotted: acts of "counter-revolution". "La chancleta is a hub of crime, there are illicit businesses, black market, gambling, prostitution…and we could let that slide, but now they're also engaging in counter-revolution, and that we will not allow", the lieutenant argues.

Facundo hopes to obtain housing in exchange for providing such services. When he mentions that the building is home to "poor people", the lieutenant challenges him. "In Cuba there are no poor people, Facundo, our revolution ended poverty in '59", he states.

The episode caricatures recurring images on the island, such as signs and political slogans that can be found everywhere. "Everything we are today we owe to the revolution!", says a poster. Vázquez had announced the series in late May and his followers were expecting the premiere soon.

Praise was abundant on the audiovisual content platform. "Andy, without a doubt, you are the best, the most versatile comedian from Cuba", says one user. "This channel gets better every day. May it last long so we can enjoy Andy's talent", says another. "Much success in this new project. A new way to hit hard at the dictatorship. Even if it's by laughing", expresses a third comment.

Vázquez announced early this year that he was leaving Univista TV channel to begin a new chapter of his life focused on dedicating more time to his family and undertaking new individual projects "both in the artistic field and in business".

On his social media, the artist thanked the management team for receiving him for two years and for opening doors at a difficult moment in his life, when he left Cuba after the national television closed the doors on him from the comedy show Vivir del Cuento, due to his critical posts about the country's reality.

"I am grateful to have been at Univista TV for these two years, where I learned a lot and made very good friends. I will miss them very much, in my artistic life, because in my private life we will continue seeing each other since I take with me the best of relationships with each of them, because there I improved myself, had fun, laughed, cried, in short, I only feel happiness when remembering my time at that prestigious channel", he said.

"Today begins a new stage of my independent life, to be able to dedicate more time to my family and undertake new individual projects, both in the artistic field and in business", he added.
