The popular Cuban humorist Andy Vázquez "Facundo" is admitted to a hospital in Miami due to health complications after testing positive for Covid-19, reported Cuban presenter José Carlucho yesterday.

"Before the questions begin, I'm going to say why you didn't see him yesterday, nor will you see him today," Carlucho began saying, who also dedicated some emotional words to his friend and one of the protagonists of the show he hosts on UniVista TV.

According to what the presenter told, the illness is seriously affecting Andy, and even during the broadcast they were unable to communicate with him because he was in very serious condition.

"Not telling our audience is lying," Carlucho stated, also noting that Vázquez is receiving all necessary care, "all I ask is that we pray for this Cuban… who won the hearts of his audience," he added in his message.

"He is facing a very difficult moment," said an emotional Carlucho on the television show he hosts on the Univista TV network, in which the Cuban humorist had been hired last January. "He is not dealing with normal COVID," declared the presenter.

"It has hit him very hard, like none of us here," Carlucho acknowledged. Apparently, several members of Carlucho's show team became infected with coronavirus, but Andy is the one who is suffering the most.

Recently, Andy Vázquez marked one year since he arrived in the United States. "I'm marking a year in this great country. Thank God, for life, my mother, my wife, my children, family, friends, my new work colleagues for this new beginning. To Iván Herrera, Luis Castro, Carlucho, it's just the beginning of many dreams to fulfill that I will soon begin working on," the actor wrote on Facebook.

Due to his charisma and versatility in interpreting different roles, Vázquez was hired by the UniVista TV platform, where he enjoys great popularity in south Florida television.

His first approach to television, in Cuba, was at just 14 years old, with a role in the soap opera Prefiero las rosas by Raúl Pérez Sánchez.

After his television debut he participated in other programs such as Tras la huella, Jura decir la verdad and No quiero llanto, in which he appeared sporadically. He also did comedy in theater with the group Onondivepa, directed by Alfredo Oliva, where he met Baudilio Espinosa.

Without a doubt, the success of his career is mainly due to his ability as an actor in interpreting various characters and giving Cubans wherever they may be a reason to laugh, popularity that he achieved by playing characters in the television program Vivir del Cuento from Cuban TV.
