The Texas Rangers took the lead in Game 1 of the World Series against the Arizona Diamondbacks thanks to two runs in the first inning itself; one of them driven in by Adolis García who in this way makes history in MLB.
In fact, the official major league portal indicated that the hit connected by the Cuban outfielder and which brought Evan Carter to the plate was his 21st RBI in the current postseason, with which he ties the all-time record in the overall October stages.
Before "El Bombi" did it, David Freese, former third baseman of the St. Louis Cardinals, had already driven in 21 runs in the 2011 playoffs when he led that squad offensively to win the World Series.
In fact, Freese produced five runs in the Division Series, nine in the next phase and seven in a fall classic against the Rangers themselves, Adolis García's current team. In the last two stages of that MLB postseason, said former infielder won the MVP award.
For his part, the Caribbean slugger drove in only one in the 2023 Wild Card Series against the Tampa Bay Rays, but added four against the Baltimore Orioles in the Division Series and exploded with 15 versus the Houston Astros in the penultimate October battle, prior to the aforementioned RBI in this Game 1.
