Cuban actress Yailene Sierra adds a new international success to her career with her participation in Sin instrucciones, a Spanish film that is currently dominating Netflix. In this film, directed by Marina Seresesky and starring Paco León, Sierra brings to life the character of Elisa in a story that blends comedy and drama, and has become the most-watched production on the platform in Spain.

The film, a remake of the Mexican hit No se aceptan devoluciones, tells the story of Leo (Paco León), a carefree bachelor whose life takes a turn when a former fling leaves him in charge of a daughter. The feature film, which earned more than one and a half million euros during its theatrical release in December 2024, recently arrived on the streaming service, where it has crowned itself as one of its undisputed leaders.

Sierra shares scenes with a first-rate cast that includes Silvia Alonso and child star Maia Zaitegi, in a production that critics have praised for its balance between humor and emotion, especially highlighting the chemistry between its leads.

It is no coincidence that the actress from Quivicán participates in this international success. Her path in the performing arts began at the Casa de Cultura de Bejucal, where she took her first steps as a child actress. Her talent caught the attention of renowned director Carlos Díaz, who offered her the role of the bride in Bodas de sangre, a role that would mark the beginning of a solid theatrical career.

Graduated from the National School of Theater in 1995, Sierra has built a notable career on Cuban stages. Among her most outstanding works is Icaros (2003), a performance that earned her the Best Acting Award for the character of Ariadna, given by UNEAC, and the Adolfo Llauradó Prize.

Her versatility as an actress has been demonstrated in works such as La celestina, Boal, and Federico, auto de fe, all directed by Díaz. She has also worked with other renowned directors such as Carlos Celdrán in Roberto Zucco and La vida es sueño, and with Carlos Padrón in Galápago and El huracán y la palma.

Before her participation in Sin instrucciones, Sierra had already ventured into cinema with the film Frutas en el café, by Humberto Padrón, and the short films Tres and Paranox Forte, made at the International Film School of San Antonio de los Baños. However, it was her role in Habana Blues that she herself considers the most important work of her life up to that point.

The Spanish public, who have received her new work with great affection, especially remembers her for her character of Blanca Morón, throughout 26 episodes, in the well-known series El síndrome de Ulises.
