Baseball player Yurisbel Gracial, champion of the Japanese and Cuban leagues in recent seasons, is recovering favorably from an injury to one of his hands, according to information provided to the Jit website by the National Baseball Directorate.
The official page of Cuba's top sports organization reflects that the athlete is in Matanzas undergoing treatment established by medical sports specialists.
In the most recent report, the doctors assure that the young man is asymptomatic, without edema or pain during mobilization, which is wonderful news for everyone, especially for Team Cuba and his Japanese franchise Softbank Hawks.
Gracial suffered a finger fracture, but after about twenty sessions a clear consolidation of the structure has been observed.
The Matanzas slugger left Japan in early March, with the objective of participating in the Arizona Pre-Olympic Baseball Tournament, which was later canceled as a result of COVID-19.
With borders closed and international air traffic suspended, Gracial has been unable to travel to the Japanese archipelago, where the professional league remains suspended and it is still unknown when it could resume.
Gracial and his countryman Alfredo Despaigne are key pieces of the Softbank club, champion of the Japanese Series in recent seasons.
