Yordan Álvarez has displayed his power since he arrived in MLB. That has been his calling card and now he has a record he can brag about. The designated hitter connected on two home runs on Monday and became the Cuban with the most home runs in postseason play.

Álvarez achieved the 12th home run of his playoff career and now leads that category among Cuban batters who have played in the Major Leagues. However, the slugger and his Houston Astros fell for the second consecutive game against the Texas Rangers in the American League Championship Series.

In his career, Álvarez has a .267 average, with 12 home runs and 34 RBIs in the playoffs. The slugger suffered from a viral infection in recent days, but looked completely recovered in his team's 4-5 loss to the Rangers.

Álvarez had gone 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in the first game against the Rangers, but later bounced back for a two-home run day. The Astros, who are looking to defend their 2022 title, are now in a complicated situation after losing the first two games at home, something that was not in anyone's predictions.
