Yolanda Benet, immortalized with the musical theme "Yolanda", detailed through her Facebook profile how her last conversation with her daughter, Suylén Milanés, was, who passed away last January at the age of 50, from a stroke.
"My dear daughter. Today, your first birthday away from this earth and the pain of your absence eats away at my soul. Today more than ever I have felt how much I miss you, your warm and affectionate embrace and your interest in always knowing if I was happy", Yolanda wrote.
Suylén would have been turning 51 this April 3rd, along with her twin sister, Liam. Because of this, her mother Yolanda wrote an emotional post that brings tears to anyone's eyes. Yolanda recounts how her last call with her daughter was, as she was outside of Cuba. She never thought it would be the last time they would speak.
"I spoke with you the day before the tragedy without knowing it would be the last time. You told me your future plans, your desires to see me, we talked about your children, about your life, without knowing it was our goodbye", recounted Milanés' ex-wife, who resides in Spain.
Yolanda explained that she was not in Cuba when everything happened, but she arrived hoping to see her. "You were no longer there. I preferred to keep your smiling image and remember you that way", she added.
"I went to your house, to your refuge and I was enraptured looking at your beautiful and original paintings, scattered throughout your artistic apartment full of you, of that work so uniquely yours that almost no one knows about and that are of a creativity worthy of an artist. I read your thoughts that reflected your Hindu beliefs, your altars, your photos of family and friends. You left my girl, but your precious work remains", she added in the emotional writing.
"Everyone loved you, there was no place you would arrive and be ignored because you radiated contagious energy. Within my immense pain I have had to smile at having had such a beloved daughter. It is an enormous satisfaction for a mother broken by pain and sadness that it will take her a long time to resign herself to your absence", she stated.
"Rest in peace my little girl and enjoy greatly your arrival to that celestial world that will dress up in gala to receive you. Goodbye my adored, beautiful daughter. Irreverent. Unique and unforgettable. With all my love, Mom", she concluded.
