The Cuban discus thrower Yaimé Pérez continues to show great form, heading into Tokyo-2020, and on this occasion threw the implement to 67.73 meters, thus achieving the best mark of the season and leading the World Athletics ranking.

The throw by the 2015 world champion in Beijing took place during the preparation sessions that the Olympic athletics pre-selection is conducting, in which Pérez showed a world-class sequence, with five throws over 65 meters.

Next weekend closes the cycle of competition among the athletes of the national team, and the inclusion of Cubans who participated in the indoor winter season is expected, with the return of long jumpers Juan Miguel Echeverría, Maikel Massó and Lester Lescay, triple jumper Liadagmis Povea and high jumper Luis Enrique Zayas.
