The series "Montecristo", starring William Levy, premiered on April 14th through the streaming platform Vix +.

The actor announced the launch of this dramatization on his Instagram profile with a video that generates a lot of intrigue about his character, Alejandro Montecristo.

In recent days the star of "Café con aroma de mujer" has been immersed in promoting the series and sharing some details about the story and his filming process.

This six-episode revenge story begins in Havana, Cuba, and although it was filmed in a neighborhood in Tenerife, William Levy recently confessed to People en Español magazine that the resemblance they achieved on set with the island moved him deeply.

"The part that is based on Cuba we did in the Canary Islands, on the island of Tenerife. That was the last week of filming and I remember that when I arrived the director Alberto Ruiz-Rojo tells me: `William, come over here, you have to see this set!´", the actor recounted.

Levy added that when he saw the set he was deeply moved. "it transported me to Cuba. The tears came to my eyes on set because I couldn't help it. These are the things that if something that I experienced moves me, I hope it moves people as well".

About his character and the protagonist of the story the actor said that "he is a young man who is born and grows up in Cuba, under communism. A very powerful Spanish family goes to Cuba to [establish] a hotel company and [my character] falls in love with the daughter of the family".

According to Levy both young people "have a romance and when the family finds out they blame him for a murder he didn't commit. In prison he manages to meet someone who later ends up leaving him a fortune and with that fortune he escapes from prison [to] carry out his revenge".

However, for those who believe they will only see a modern version of the classic by Alejandro Dumas, The Count of Montecristo, the leading man added that they changed the ending of the story "so that people don't expect what they already know".

The last production in which William Levy participated, "Café con aroma de mujer", was a resounding success, let's hope to see how he does as Alejandro Montecristo.
