William Levy to Star in New Series Inspired by The Count of Montecristo

Well-known Cuban actor William Levy will star in a new series based on the iconic novel by Alejandro Dumas, "The Count of Montecristo".

Following his recent success with the Colombian telenovela Café con aroma de mujer, produced by Telemundo and which in recent weeks occupies Netflix's recommendation lists, Levy will return to the small screen as Alejandro Montecristo.

The story narrates the life of this character who generates doubts and concern in the social elite as his past and the origin of his fortune remain unknown.

"Montecristo is our most recent modernized classic of premium quality. It is a story of revenge and passion with unforgettable characters. This new version of that timeless plot has been masterfully conceived. We achieved an alliance almost as perfect as the protagonist's revenge," affirmed Mario Almeida, content director of Pantaya, one of the production entities of the series.

Secuoya Studios and Levy himself with his company William Levy Entertainment also participate in the production.

The series will premiere on Pantaya in the United States and Puerto Rico.
