William Levy is in Tenerife these days for the filming of "Montecristo"

Cuban telenovela heartthrob William Levy is currently on the Canary Island of Tenerife for the filming of parts of the series "Montecristo", a television adaptation of the literary classic by Alejandro Dumas, "The Count of Montecristo".

It was learned from the local media Diario de Avisos that the filming is taking place near the Finca San Miguel, in La Orotava, in the northern part of the island of Tenerife:

"It is a spectacular space that was part of an estate founded in the 16th century. Currently, the estate, which totals 90,000 square meters between the property and the crops, in addition to hosting various audiovisual productions, hosts all kinds of celebrations, especially weddings and other family events"

This new version of "Montecristo" with the lead role of the most popular actor of these times with great success in Spain, William Levy, is directed by Alberto Ruiz Rojo, the screenplay by Lidia Fraga and Jacobo Díaz, was inspired by the novel by Frenchman Alejandro Dumas, which was published as a serial between 1845 and 1846.

In addition to Levy, the cast of actors and actresses includes Spaniards Roberto Enríquez, Silvia Abascal and Juan Fernández, and Mexican actress Esmeralda Pimentel.

The production will be handled by Spanish audiovisual production company Secuoya Studios, along with Sergio Pizzolante, Jeff Goldberg and Levy himself. The audiovisual will be filmed in various locations throughout Spanish geography.

According to the aforementioned local newspaper:
"As is customary, it is being done with total discretion and subject to confidentiality clauses"

In the month of January the telenovela heartthrob had announced this project, which was of great interest to him because he would be bringing to life one of his favorite literary characters:

"It brings me great joy to be able to play the character of Edmundo Dantés (Alejandro Montecristo) since it is one of my favorite characters, a story that I have loved since childhood"
