Cuban musician and humorist Alejandro García Villalón, better known as Virulo, returns to Mexico with the show Chronicles of the Pandemic, which will offer two unique performances on January 21 and 22 at Teatro Bar El Vicio.

It will be a very special show in which Virulo sings and comments on the songs he wrote during these two years of lockdown on his native island, in which he will pay a heartfelt tribute to percussionist Rolando Valdés, his inseparable friend, who recently passed away after having accompanied him for 30 years.

In this regard, the musician shares: "If I had not gone through these stormy times in Cuba, I would not have made the album 'Chronicles of the Pandemic'. I would not have recorded with Buena Fe, with the Septeto Nacional, with Kelvis Ochoa, with Pancho Amat, with the National Symphony, with Digna Guerra's Choir, with Ray Fernández, with Cándido Fabré, and with so many other wonderful musicians from my beloved Cuba".

He adds: "After presenting you with the new songs, I want to offer a tribute to my dear friend Rolando Valdés, who accompanied me with his percussion for more than 30 years, and who recently passed away from COVID aftereffects. That's why I will be alone in this performance, the void that little Rolando leaves in my heart can never be filled by anyone. And I'm still not ready to share the stage with other musicians".

Catch the good humor that characterizes Virulo with this emotional show that will be fun and unforgettable, Friday January 21 and Saturday January 22 from Teatro Bar El Vicio, located at Madrid 13, col. Del Carmen, check prices and times here.
