Vicente Feliú expresses on Facebook his opinion on the repression of gay march in La Habana

May 12, 2019

Vicente Feliú, the Cuban singer-songwriter, expressed on his Facebook account dated May 11:

"The absurd repression, shameful, dangerously evocative, of this afternoon's gay march is definitively indefensible. And for me it is clear that very negative and retrograde tendencies persist within some decision-makers with a lot of power, which increasingly diminish and entrench the country, and this people who have the strength for a thousand years but are tired of the bungling of mentalities that have to stop being changed or they are going to sink us in the sea of apathy.

And I believe that the greatest challenge our President has, which does not come from History but from the very bottom of many, is precisely to eradicate those mentalities that have their foot on the brake on everything that is attempted to be improved. Know that you have all my support to give them a beating, or whatever is appropriate."
