"A Mere Rumor" was presented at Saturday of the Book

In the Saturday of the Book space on Calle de Madera in the Historic Center of Havana, on July 8th, the title "A Mere Rumor" was presented. Lectures on Eliseo Diego and Fina García Marruz, by author Josefina de Diego, and by Extramuros Publishing House.

Convened by the Cuban Book Institute, the event is a tribute to both writers and poets, two essential authors of Cuban and Latin American letters, both National Literature Prize winners in Cuba.

On this occasion, the title "A Mere Rumor" was presented, a compilation of lectures on Fina García Marruz and Eliseo Diego, by poet, narrator, essayist and translator Josefina de Diego, daughter of the author of "On the Calzada de Jesús del Monte" and other books.

According to the Cubaliteraria website, the volume was published by Extramuros Editions in 2019 and groups together five lectures that allow an innovative and enriching approach to passages from the life and work of the prestigious Cuban narrators.

They are "The English Language and English Literature in the Life and Work of Writer Eliseo Diego", "Spain and Spanish Literature in the Life and Work of Writer Eliseo Diego", "Annotated Reading of Small Memories, unpublished text by Fina García Marruz".

The other compiled texts are "What the Books in My Father's Library Tell Me, Eliseo Diego" and "What the Books in My Father's Library Tell Me (II): the Library of a Translator".

About the author:

Poet, narrator, essayist, translator, with a body of work directed fundamentally at children and young adult audiences. Daughter of Cuban poet, narrator and essayist Eliseo Diego.

She has written narrative poetry books such as: A Siberian Husky Cat, from Gente Nueva Publishing House, 2007; Rhymes and Diversions, from Gente Nueva Publishing House, 2008, and Like a Goblin in My Garden, Gente Nueva Publishing House, 2009/El perro y la rana Editorial Foundation, Venezuela, 2009.
