A Lot of Stars for Polo in Las Terrazas

The International Celebration for Polo Montañez was announced by the Company of Recordings and Musical Editions, EGREM, for June 2, 3, and 4 next at Las Terrazas, the community in Artemisa from where "the natural peasant" became a legend.

Dedicated to the life and work of the popular Cuban singer and composer Polo Montañez, this year the event celebrates its tenth anniversary of its creation with the international launch.

It will be three days of celebration from sunrise to sunset, assured the Director of EGREM, Reinier Rodríguez, who emphasized:

"What is special about this year is that all the groups that participate have to play a song by Polo. We agreed on that last year with those who were there and we will do it that way this time. In the end, we will end up, in some way, all singing something by Polo Montañez. It's a way of paying tribute to this genius of music."

The host will once again be the group that the author of hits like "Flor pálida," "Si se enamora de mí," or "Dónde estará" founded and directed.

Fernando Borrego Linares was the birth name of an artist who conquered the world without renouncing the rural airs of the Sierra del Rosario. Although a regrettable accident cut short his rising career, Cuba remembers him and will sing to him in June from Las Terrazas.
