Trovador Rey Montalvo Debuts at Casa de las Américas

With the tree of life at his back, Rey Montalvo Vasallo brought his poetry turned music to Casa de las Américas, sanctuary of author's song, witness to the birth of the new trova, and it was a magical moment.

Better now than tomorrow, like his song to Che Guevara, it was a concert full of light, for the 65 years of the Casa, where Silvio, Noel, Pablo and Vicente founded so much and so many things.

There were many people of various ages; legendary friends in Rey's life, young people discovering their own Genesis, Discurso de Invierno or Yo digo el hombre, and others who sang out loud "don't take advantage" that anthem that Descanso y fe has become, against apathy and opportunism.

Rey grows, the Casa was the place that was missing and it rewarded him with an extraordinary light.
