"Tito Reacciona" is the name of a series broadcast via YouTube created by the Instituto Latino de la Música (ILM), which tells the story of Tito, an 8-year-old "youtuber," who seeks to revive children's interest and taste for Cuba's musical idols.
On the ILM's 98th anniversary, its Director Daniel Martín sought to, through this animated series, disseminate the work of the most outstanding Cuban artists since the early twentieth century.
The series broadcast on the YouTube channel of Daniel Martín Subiat will have 12 chapters that will premiere each Friday, in which Tito will be seen accompanied by his Cuban idols, among which stand out Leo Brouwer, Dominican Johnny Ventura, Puerto Rican Danny Rivera, and American Charles Fox.
The Brouwer chapter showcases his mastery of the guitar as well as his tours through international venues. In the following episodes will be Cuban artists Juan Formell and Los Van Van, Adalberto Álvarez, Cesar Pupi Pedroso, Benny Moré, Omara Portuondo, Chucho Valdés, Frank Fernández, Pancho Céspedes, Edesio Alejandro, among others.
Daniel Martín, current President of the ILM, said that he is concerned about the way today's children learn. "I realized that on the continent, childhood was being abandoned to a tablet, an iPad, or a television screen. So, instead of wanting to change the global trend, I decided to create something that from that tablet would bring culture to those who will direct the future of the world: children. That's why ILM Kids was created."
In the coming weeks, "Tito Reacciona" will be broadcast on Cuban Television, so this series aims to maintain the legacy of Cuban stars. The next chapter of the saga will be dedicated to the life of Benny Moré.
