This Tuesday the awarding of the Félix Varela Order of the First Degree took place for the Children's Theater Company La Colmenita, at the Protocol Hall El Laguito in Havana.
At the ceremony, Carlos Alberto (Tin) Cremata Malberti also received the medal, a distinguished pedagogue and general director of that collective.
La Colmenita is one of the most recognized companies in Cuba for its educational work with children and adolescents, who are trained not only in music, dance and acting, but also in moral values for the future.
Some of the children who have been part of that team were part of the cast of films such as Viva Cuba, And yet..., and Habanastation.
Cremata Malberti and La Colmenita reach with their art the most intricate areas of the national geography and such is their impact in terms of work with the child audience that both in municipalities and provinces of the greatest of the Antilles as well as in countries of the Latin American region, similar groups were created.
The collective holds awards such as being ambassadors of goodwill by the United Nations Fund for Children (Unicef) and its director received in the past month of July the title of Doctor Honoris Causa from the University of the Arts.
