Telmary Records Documentary on Cuban Music in Brazil

The popular Cuban singer Telmary is currently in Brazil for the recording of a documentary on Cuban music. According to what the rapper has been sharing on her Instagram, the audiovisual aims to capture her work along with Brazilian producer YB Music.

The project that unites them will pay tribute to classic Cuban compositions with contemporary arrangements. "I am in São Paulo for the recording of a documentary with the music producer YB Music where classic Cuban compositions are receiving new arrangements ranging from Hip Hop to Samba, Rumba, and new rhythms created in the Batanga&Cia studio with Grifa Filmes and recorded by the wonderful Mauricio Tagliari", wrote the also entrepreneur.

Telmary has been sharing in recent days the makeup and preparation sessions for the audiovisual, which according to the hashtag she has published, will be titled "Perolas do Cuba" (Pearls of Cuba).

As for the documentary's production company, Grifa Filmes, this would be their second work linked to Cuba, following one about the so-called "Operation Peter Pan". Founded by Maurício Dias and Fernando Dias, Grifa Filmes produces documentaries and series for the Brazilian and international audiovisual market. It is one of the most award-winning production companies in the South American country, with three Emmy nominations and two co-productions that qualified for the 2019 Oscars.

Telmary's stay in Brazil did not go unnoticed. Many of her followers in that nation asked her for concerts in the region. For his part, the film's director described the Cuban artist as a force of nature.

"A week living and learning with the hurricane Telmary and the beautiful team of cinematographers and musicians of the documentary about Cuban music", wrote Mauricio Tagliari.

The also author of "Cógela como arde" will go from Brazil to the United States to participate in a major concert with Arturo O'Farrill, Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra, and divas of Cuban music such as: Daymé Arocena, and Aymée Nuviola at the Miami Beach Bandshell which will take place today, October 21.
