Cuban actress Tahimí Alvariño announced the premiere of the Dominican film "El tiburón," in which she will be the star and will share the screen with her ex-partner Bárbaro Marín.

The feature film, directed by Félix Germán, will premiere in the Dominican Republic on November 21st, at which time audiences will be able to enjoy the audiovisual that mixes drama with touches of humor, creating a tragicomedy that will make you laugh, cry, and reflect.

Through the film's Instagram profile, its filmmakers asked the public if "Are you ready to embark on an epic journey?"

Based on that premise, film enthusiasts will discover what happens "when three couples from Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and Haiti decide to unite in search of a better life and the sea becomes the stage for an unexpected adventure."

That's when the unexpected happens because "what they didn't expect is that a shark would change the course of their dreams… and their lives."

Alongside Alvariño and Marín, other artists share the cast such as Dalisa Alegría, Mozart La Para, and Dominique Telemaque, all embodying interesting characters in a plot that "explores the complexities of destiny, decisions, and second chances, with moments that will make you see life in a different way," according to the synopsis.

In January 2023, Tahimí Alvariño had announced that she was filming this movie in the Dominican Republic. From her social networks, the popular actress shared images at that time and said she was "happy with this new project."

For now, we will have to wait for "El tiburón" to be seen in Cuba, where Cubans will surely be anxious to enjoy this professional acting couple once again, this time under the direction of the Dominican filmmaker known for films such as "La isla rota," "El proyeccionista," and "La maldición del padre Cardona."
