Silvio Rodríguez and Pablo Milanés will perform together at the Festival de la Trova de Yucatán

The International Festival of Trova in Yucatán (FITY) returns after its successful first edition in 2018 and this time will take place from December 4th to 7th with the presentation of possibly the most emblematic exponents of Cuban trova: Silvio Rodríguez and Pablo Milanés.

The event will mark a milestone in Mexico as these two Cubans will be joined by the celebrated Brazilian Caetano Veloso, in what will be the first presentation of the three troubadours.

Natalia Lafourcade, Kevin Johansen, Marissa Mur, Juan Pablo Vega, Sergio Félix, Alejandro Santiago, Gerardo Peña and Ricardo Pita, among others, have confirmed their participation.

Mérida, the Yucatecan capital, will offer several venues for the concerts. Among them are the "Foro Ciudad" located at Hacienda Teya, Paseo 60, in the city center, the Museo de la Canción Yucateca and the Leones de Yucatán baseball stadium, the venue for Milanés' presentation with Natalia Lafourcade on December 5th.

A day later Caetano Veloso will perform and on the closing day Marissa Mur, Juan Pablo Vega and Silvio Rodríguez will perform. It is estimated that 10 thousand Cubans reside in Mérida.
