Cuban troubadour Silvio Rodríguez drew more than five thousand people to Valencia's Roig Arena on September 16, 2026, one of the most anticipated stops on his Tour España 2026. The nearly two-hour show took place as a severe storm hit the city; accounts shared with the Cuban News Agency and Cubadebate describe an audience that stayed absorbed in the music while streets and roads outside flooded.
The set surveyed more than five decades of his catalog, mixing early landmarks such as "Sueño con serpientes," "Pequeña serenata diurna," "Escaramujo," "El necio" and "Ojalá" with newer pieces including "Historia de las sillas," "Noche sin fin y mar," "Viene la cosa" and "Nuestro después." A highlight came when he performed "La belleza" with musician Niurka González and their daughter Malva Rodríguez. He also recited Luis Rogelio Nogueras's poem "Halt!" and closed with "Por quien merece amor," sung along by the crowd.
Returning to Valencia after a decade away, the 79-year-old songwriter continues the tour with dates in A Coruña (September 19), Seville (September 26), Murcia (October 1) and Madrid (October 4 at Movistar Arena). Local outlets including ABC and Actualidad Valencia underscored how the night balanced his historic repertoire with recent work.
