Cuban troubadour Silvio Rodríguez drew thousands of fans to Murcia’s Plaza de Toros on October 1, 2026, for a Murcia ON concert on his Spain 2026 tour. Murcia Plaza’s next-day review described a devoted crowd that sang along to anthems such as Ojalá and Unicornio and closed with the ballad Te molesta mi amor.
The 79-year-old was backed by his regular band: Niurka González (flute and clarinet), Malva Rodríguez (vocals and keyboards), Jorge Aragón (piano), Rachid López (guitar), Maykel Elizarde (tres), Jorge Reyes (double bass), Emilio Vega (vibraphone) and Oliver Valdés (drums and percussion). The set included Sueño con serpientes, Escaramujo, El necio, Viene la cosa and Luis Eduardo Aute’s La belleza. He also read a José Martí passage and Luis Rogelio Nogueras’s poem Halt!, and said a new album would arrive “I think soon.”
The Murcia stop, previewed by La Opinión de Murcia, is the penultimate date after Barcelona, Zaragoza, Bilbao, Valencia, A Coruña and Seville. The tour ends October 4 at Madrid’s Movistar Arena.
