Among twenty-one nominations, the 2020 National Film Award was conferred upon screenwriter Senel Paz and producer Francisco Prats, who will receive it on March 24 on the 61st anniversary of the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry.

Paco Prats was one of the founders of the Animation Department of that institution, created 60 years ago as a precursor to the ICAIC Animation Studios, and his name validates a large part of its production.

Narrator Senel Paz is the author of the short story "El lobo, el bosque y el hombre nuevo", winner of the international Juan Rulfo prize and from which he wrote the screenplay for the film "Fresa y Chocolate", one of the milestones of Cuban cinema.

As a screenwriter he also participated in the films "Una novia para David" and "Adorables mentiras", in addition to collaborating on "Lista de espera" and "Un paraíso bajo las estrellas".
