Regardless of his brief stint of only three seasons, Cuban baseball player Alfredo Despaigne was chosen by fans for the All-Stars team of the SoftBank Falcons, during the decade from 2010 to 19, in the Japanese Professional Baseball League.

Followers of that baseball team voted on the Baseball King portal, and Despaigne was selected as the best designated hitter of the decade.

His fans have reason and objectivity on their side, since the numbers of the player from Gran are very good in that period. It turns out that the Eastern player hit nothing less than 100 home runs with 265 runs batted in, for an average of 33 home runs and almost 90 runs batted in per season.

The other foreigner who made the cut in the select list is American pitcher Dennis Sarfate, a specialist in closing out games. All the other players that appear are of Japanese origin.

Alfredo Despaigne is recovering in Cuba from a hand injury and was set to play again with the SoftBank Falcons, starting last March. However, the global pandemic of the new Coronavirus suspended the strong Japanese baseball league until further notice.
